location-based local news

This is pretty good: local-news.net, a location-based news aggregator made by a creative coder in the UK. It uses lat/long coordinates to index specific cities, and dynamically aggregates news, weather, sports, blogs and related info from a variety of sources including google, yahoo, feedster, amazon, and NOAA. Apparently it has been around for quite awhile (> 1 year?), but I had never run across it before. Interesting to compare the news for San Francisco, London, and Sydney.
